Thank you, Jack, as always, for your timely commentary.
And thanks to all who gamely slogged through all those songs with me! We had several interesting additions based on requests from the group – it’s fun to try new songs and if they have promise we will clean them up and continue to work on them – I know the first run-through can be rocky, but that’s how we identify changes that are needed. So keep sending your ideas, please!
Meanwhile, we are down to one practice for our May 30 event, so we will run through the list in order next week and practice those that need it. I am attaching the final list – see attached, or you will be able to find it on the website/Meetup. Note that after last night I took out Africa and Friday I’m In Love, and replaced them with Get Together and Teach your Children. I also added two final songs to end the day with – Wagon Wheel and Jambalaya.
The songs with an asterix are the ones that need some revision based on last night’s practice – I will update all the songs on the website by tomorrow afternoon, and also put together a full pdf which will be posted.
Next week I would also like to put together a rough plan for our solos and duets, so if you want to perform, please decide by Wednesday how many songs you would like to do, and if you have a preferred time frame.
Yes, we have an opportunity to play at the Nashua Farmers Market, and a wide array of dates to choose from. We are narrowing down a date (possibly two) for that, so stay tuned.
Have a great week –
Susan

Good evening Susan,
I hope everyone is staying cool. A couple weeks ago I was saying stay warm. It’s hard to believe that we are coming up on Memorial Day weekend. I wish someone could explain why time is flying by faster than ever this year.
We had 27 in attendance this warm evening. It was nice and cool in the library.
Susan reminded everyone about the performance on the 30th at the Purple House/ Purple Porch/Creative Community. It’s not too late to sign up. Susan said she will attach the tentative set list to her response to this email.
Susan had quite a long list of songs this week. I am not going to address each one individually. Some of them we will be performing on the 30th and others were requests that we’re trying out.
Songs that need Susan’s attention:
Africa – work on the ooohs
Breaking Up is Hard to Do – add last verse
Come and Get Your Love – add bass rif at end
Everybody Wants to Rule the World – review
The following need to be listened to and practiced. Some more than others and mostly because of timing issues:
Summertime Blues
Life in a Northern Town
Fool On the Hill
Crimson and Clover
And He Kissed Me
Both Sides Now
Macarthur Park
Songs that went well:
Margaritaville
Wild Mountain Thyme
Bye Bye Love
I want to thank Patty for filling in for the Purple People Eater. I had no idea that the original purple people eater only works one night a year.

With Bill’s help, Susan is looking into performing at the farmers market in Nashua at some point this summer. More info as it becomes available.
One thing I forgot to mention was the big brawl at Hampton Beach last night. I’m not sure if our Hampton Contingent was involved. In case you’re wondering, that is the three tough ladies in the front row on the left and Kay who sits on the right.
Thank you everyone for coming out on this warm evening. I hope everyone can have a great Memorial Day Weekend and remember those who have fallen.
Take care,
Jack
