Thank you, Jack!
I hope everyone realizes and appreciates the time you devote to our group, no matter how much is going on in your own life. You are the best Tonto ever!
The purple house event was really fun, thanks to all who came out and joined in. We have lots of video that we have shared with those who were there, some of which may eventually make its way to You Tube or the website.
We do have a growing list of upcoming events, and I have setlists in the works. Based on last night’s practice and input, I will have the songs for the Dover event (June 22) out to you all in the next few days, and we will do a run through next week. I will get the rest of the summer’s lists done as soon as possible. While I believe the “seniors” we play for enjoy the same range of music that we do (hey, most of us are “seniors” too!), I will be endeavoring to keep the songs familiar to all.
We will be adding an event at the Birches in Rochester, some time in the beginning of August. It happens every year – I swear I will keep us to one performance per month, but then can’t say no. In this case, I was contacted by someone who saw us at Webster last year, and thought we were great, so is hoping we will play in Rochester, where he has a family member. Needless to say, that’s hard to turn down!
There is never any pressure for anyone to perform at these events with us – it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But as Jack often says, it’s really a good time and everyone is welcome to participate, no matter your skill level. The back row is a safe place, and you will not be blamed for the mistakes perpetrated by the front row.
I hope you all will find plenty of time to enjoy this long-awaited lovely weather! See you next week –
Susan

Hi Susan,
Great time at the Purple Porch last Sunday. Fortunately, the rain held off until shortly after we finished our performance.
Beautiful day today. Thank you to the 21 members who came out to play this evening.
Susan tried out the beginnings of a playlist for the nursing homes we’re going to be doing this year. She is looking for suggestions for additional songs. If you want to see today’s list, go to our website and click on Meetup songs and it’ll be under June 3rd.
I’ll touch on some of the songs:
Beyond the Sea – practice
Build Me Up Buttercup – practice
Daydream – take out the words “Verse 1” at the instrumental part
Blue Moon/Heart and Soul mashup – This seemed to go well
Sentimental Journey – practice
We’ll Meet Again – One strum on the last chord. Save this song for the Riverwoods performance in August.
That’s Amore – practice
Moondance – This is not intended for the nursing homes. Susan likes it and brought it out because of the blue moon last week. It is definitely worth pursuing.
Act Naturally – Susan may change the key
When I’m 64 – set the wayback machine for me. We have timing issues but I don’t believe we’ve practiced it very much. Susan is looking for a couple of Beatles songs for the nursing homes.
As I said earlier if you have any suggestions send them along.
You will see in the events list that the Nashua Farmer’d Market and Riverwoods have been confirmed.
We also have a request to play at a nursing home in Rochester. A gentleman emailed Susan stating that he had seen us playing at Webster at Rye. His daughter is in that nursing home. He would love to have us play there. Susan is looking into it and trying to find a good date. Stay tuned
