(Hello, All – you may be getting this twice because I messed up the forwarding last night!)I appreciate your suggestion to try The Way – it is now one of my favorites, and I believe it will be a good group song. We will decide how we want the ending to be and then bring it to a Wednesday.
Tonight’s songs were fairly random, but I am continuing to strengthen our Senior song list and also mulling over the best options for Nashua and Plumfest. We have lots of good songs and I am trying not to bypass the old familiar ones just because we played them a lot and I want to try new things. It is good to keep them strong and ready to go for some of these longer performances.

Please remember that next Wednesday is already July 1! This means that anyone interested and available can come early to practice to help out with the library’s ukulele for kids class, part of their summer reading program. This will be taking place every Wednesday in July from 4 pm- 4:30 pm. Amanda Allard will be leading the class, but can use our help to provide hands-on help to the kids that attend. Sign up on Meetup if you would like to help out; it just means showing up an hour early for our usual jam at 5. The program will culminate with a performance on August 5, when the kids will play what they have learned and we will also play a few songs.

Good evening Susan,
What better way to finish a beautiful day than playing and singing with friends. We had 19 in attendance.
We had a very nice time at Spring Village this past Monday. We had 11members performing.. The audience was very receptive.
We started out this evening with Susan and Jack trying out a new song during Uncle Jack’s Corner. It is song from 1998 from a little known group out of Austin Texas named Fastball. The Way is a very interesting song. It seemed to go well and a few people said they liked it. We may bring it to the group after a little fine tuning.
Susan brought us a PDF with some songs she’s changed, some she’s working on and a bunch of random stuff. I’ll highlight a few things:
Singing in the Rain – The key change seemed to help. This will be coming up in our nursing home performances.
Que Sera Sera – A few changes were made to help with the timing and they seem to work.
Do You Want to Know a Secret – This Beatles song seemed to go well. There was a little discussion on the bass walkdown. Susan’s going to listen to it and when Tom gets back we’ll finalize it.
Down at the Twist and Shout – We did this song quite a while ago and it seemed to drop off the radar. It’s back on and it went well.
Ballad of Gilligan’s Island – fun song
Jamaica Farewell – went well
The rest of the songs were very familiar and went well. The balance of the evening was spent choosing from the website.
A suggestion was made that we should have a TV theme song evening. If you have a suggestion please send it in. Right now we have:

We also are thinking about a theme night of songs that should not be played at nursing homes. We’ve had many suggestions over the last few months but no one has written them down until now. I can only remember a few:
