Thank you, Jack.
I will state the obvious and say that we have lost a few very good friends in the past year. I will add that it was a true gift to know Joan, and Don and Jane. I agree with Alfred,Lord Tennyson about love and loss.
We are humbled to be asked to play a few songs tomorrow, and we will do our best for Joan. Please come by if you can, at any time between 4 and 8 – we have been asked to bring a small group to play at 7:00, but we want to support Dave and family en masse.
I do apologize for loading up tonight’s list with too many oddments! They sounded like a good idea at the time I looked them up at home! I still think we could have a lot of fun with the TV songs, but perhaps we should digest one at a time to avoid tummy aches.
Starting next week, we will move into practicing for Nashua – check it out on Meetup, and consider joining us at this fun event! I will get the final setlist out this weekend. We need about 25 songs to fill the time frame, but do not dismay: we are pulling from our many familiar, vetted songs and it will not be stressful. Please join us! I personally am planning on lunch with an adult beverage afterward – there are several good restaurants within walking distance of the venue.
As we head into some very hot days and the 4th of July weekend, stay cool (ish) and have some fun. Alternately, I wish you success in avoiding the mayhem!
Looking forward to seeing you all next week – including our prodigal bass player, Tom.
Susan

Susan and I received a nice thank you card from Larry. He is very appreciative of all the kind words that you wrote in the sympathy card.
Susan put together another interesting PDF for this evening. Some of the songs we know and some were new. I’ll touch on a few.
The Way – Susan and I did this last week on Uncle Jack’s Corner. It seemed to go well. We will continue to practice it. It might be a possibility for Nashua
Summertime – went fairly well
Beyond the Sea – Susan’s still attempting to figure out the best key
Winchester Cathedral – bombed
Africa – We seemed to be able to do this fairly well a couple months ago but now we’re having issues. Listen to the song and we will practice it
Sounds of Silence – This song is supposed to start off quietly and then get louder at the verse that begins with “and the people bowed and prayed”
Mr Bojangles – practice
Just a Gigalo – needs work
Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres – much harder than we thought
