Thank you for reminding us of Jane’s memorial service which will take place on Saturday. We hope to also see our friend Larry at Riverwoods next month.
It was an interesting evening, Thank you all for riding the roller coaster of songs with me! I think all have possibilities, no matter how rough tonight. I appreciated all the input and help, and yes, great job, Lauren!As always, we loved having Spider in the house with his magic harmonicas. He will be joining us over the next month and a half to be ready to help us out at Plumfest. Thanks, Spider!
We are ready to go for Webster. As Jack mentioned, we need to gather there around 2:30 to set up, and will be playing from 3 pm until likely around 3:45 or so. This event is back in the long term care and rehab wing, in the big activities room. Coincidentally, July 29 is also national “Play Music on the Porch Day”. I will fill you in with any more specifics I receive, but here are the instructions from last year:
Drive around the building to the right as you come in. You will go almost all the way around, until you see the deliveries door and dumpsters. Look for door #10, that is where we will enter. Park any place in that area. We are in the activities room.
Looking ahead, we do have a flurry of performances coming up. Setlists for Birch Healthcare and Riverwoods will be posted in the next couple of days, and they will be comprised of songs we can do without extra practice.
The library’s summer program will be ending soon, and on August 5, we will NOT be having our regular jam – instead, around 5:30 we will be playing along with the ukulele students as they perform “You Are My Sunshine”, then playing “Jambalaya” (during which we hope they will be able to strum along), and a few other songs for the kids and their parents. Please check Meetup for that date – I will get that plan firmed up soon.
I am probably forgetting a couple dozen important things, but will work on keeping everyone up to date on Meetup, via the website, and in emails where necessary

Reminder: the memorial service for Larry’s wife Jane is this Saturday July 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Stratham Community Church 6 Emory Lane Stratham, NH. A reception will follow at MILA 1 Franklin St. Exeter, NH. All are welcome
We had 26 in attendance this evening.
I’m not sure how many of you are aware of what happened with the Nashua event. Saturday night, Bill’s daughter Christine noticed on Facebook that it was canceled. Bill sent the link to a few of us. Susan reached out to our contact who had no idea. It was canceled in favor of a soccer watch party. Apparently they forgot about the farmers market and notifying the organizer. If it wasn’t for Christine we may have all showed up in Nashua with nowhere to play. Thanks Chrine and Bill.
The day was saved however by a very nice cookout at Tom’s house. We played almost the entire set while there. It was good practice for Plum Fest.
Last week I mentioned that we had special guests. I completely overlooked Tom’s friend Leo. Apparently he had a good time because he was back again this week.
We have an event at Webster in Rye next Wednesday. We perform at 3:00 and should be done by 4:00. If you’re planning on attending please arrive at 2:30 for setup.
Please note: we will be having our regular Wednesday practice next week as well. Some of us will be a little later than usual but we should be there before our 5:00 p.m. start time.
