SUP Recap 8/05/2026

Thank you, Jack as always, for faithfully reporting on our meetups! Not to mention being there to run the computer and do everything else, including leading the kazoo section. Which is pretty much you.

We did indeed have a successful outing in Rochester. Every place we go is a little different, yet the same in many ways. The people are wonderful and truly appreciate the music! If you haven’t already signed up, please consider joining us in Kingston on the 29th at All American Assisted LIving.

Tonight’s practice was a little different, but valuable. We are ready to have a great time at Riverwoods on Sunday. I apologize profusely for not having the pdf of songs posted before tonight! But we did make one last adjustment, so it’s just as well. I will get that out either tonight or first thing tomorrow! Remember that it is a party, and it will be a fun day. We won’t be perfect, at least I don’t anticipate that we will be – but we will be entertaining, and we always have a great time. Remember that if you are coming with equipment, we will be setting up at 3:30. If it’s just you and your music and ukulele, 4:00 or later  is fine. We start playing at 4:30.

As Jack pointed out, this is planned as an outdoor event, and it is going to be a warm day. I am hoping that the patio has some shade at that time of day, but we will see. All details and updates will be posted on Meetup.

I hope you all have a great week!

I for one will enjoy the heck out of the sultry summer days. Too soon we will be huddling in the house with sweaters and lap rugs. And lap cats, not all bad…. but I digress.

Go play your ukulele on the porch! See you soon!

Susan

Hi Susan,

It was a very long day for some of us starting up in Rochester. We had nine members in total and the people were thrilled to have us. I know it makes me feel good and I’m sure everyone else does after that type of performance.

We met early today because of the children’s reading program wrap up at the library.

I am not going to list the songs that we played. They are all on the website under Riverwoods event, as well as Meetup.

Right now there is a list of the songs. The complete PDF will be there tomorrow morning if all goes well.

Practice went very well. A number of us stuck around and backed up the kids, on stage, as they played You are My Sunshine and Jambalaya.
