Hi, Jack,
FIRST: WE WILL NOT BE AT THE LIBRARY NEXT WEEK! WE WILL BE AT LAUREN AND TOM’S HOUSE: 46 NORTHRUP RD, BRENTWOOD. PLEASE CHECK THE MEETUP PAGE FOR DETAILS.
Second;
It was indeed a different evening! We missed the bass and percussion and banter we usually enjoy from the Savages, but do not begrudge them a night to relax with family after several extra (long) trips down to play with us. They make a huge difference in our sound and are great friends.I very much appreciate all the time and effort they take to join us!
We enjoyed the addition of background vocals to “Don’t Be Cruel” provided by Becky, Patty and Marilyn. Well done, and thank you Marilyn for leading! We expect more, please!
Thanks to Lauren (and Tom, too) for helping with Pink Houses. I definitely needed help! Fun song, thank you.
Also, it is always a treat to have Spider with us on the harmonica. We will be revising Folsom Prison to include a harmonica instrumental. We are practicing for Plumfest, where we will be honored to have Spider along. If you are coming to the party at Lauren’s next week, please check the Meetup page and website for songs – we will bring out a few of these selections. Also, remember that this is a very informal gathering and we welcome any song additions, whether solos or group songs. Please bring at least 5 copies to share of any songs you would like us to play along on.
Plans for Plumfest are developing fast, and several of us will meet on Sept. 5 to finalize logistics and parking.
We had several new songs tonight, and I apologise if it was too much at once. As we grow, we are trying to find the best way to keep things interesting without giving everyone vertigo. Please take note that after our August 29 performance at All American in Kingston (NH), we will gather at Ricks’ house by the lake, and at that time will talk about plans for the upcoming year. Please bring your thoughts on how to make our meetups better, and about group direction in general.
Thank you all – be well and enjoy the beautiful summer days.
Susan
RD.

Hi Susan,
We had 20 members in attendance this evening.
Sunday’s performance at Riverwoods was excellent. If you’re interested in seeing any videos you’ll find some on our Facebook page and others on our YouTube page.
Things seemed a bit off with Susan up front and me in the back. But once things got rolling it went well and it’ll get better each week. She wants to be up front so she can hear the different voices, timing etc.
Susan’s going to put this in her response, but don’t forget next week we will be at Lauren and Tom’s house for Garage Band Bash V, not at the library. And the bash starts at 4:00 p.m. check Meetup for details.
If you’re interested in every song we played, look at the PDF on Meetup or the website.
All of the following songs need to be practiced. Some will have additional comments:
The Way
One After 909
Simple Song of Freedom
Blue Sky – Susan to fix the [F/C] issue
Folsom Prison – when Spider is playing with us there will be a harmonica instrumental
Rock Around the Clock
Bring Me Sunshine
Pink Pony Club
Pink Cadillac
Pink Houses
Good Day Sunshine – need help with kazoo
Lean On Me
Life is Beautiful
Don’t Be Cruel – Marilyn. Patty and Becky brought a new twist to the song. I believe Marilyn said they were bopping. It was great.
