SUP Recap 8/19/2026

Hi, Jack and All –

Yes, thanks to Lauren and Tom for another great barbecue/garage jam! It’s always a treat.

Jack, you forgot to mention that you got everyone to play “Sea Food”, one of your finer parodies that I usually shoot down in favor of the perennial favorite, “Sea Cruise”. And Jan, as for “Propane” – we need to do this again!

Thanks for all the food and camaraderie!

One correction to your list of events, Jack: it is the Warner Ukulele Festival, not Webster.

Our next performance is at All American in Kingston, after which everyone who can make it will meet at Rick’s house, 18 Beach Drive. There will be a brief meeting about the goals of our group in the coming year, and then just time to visit. Snacks and drinks will be provided. So far it’s chips and dip, cheese and crackers, etc., but we can order pizzas too.

Be prepared to be cozy in the story room next week! The list will be comprised of Plum Fest selections, perhaps one or two new songs that may work there, and we can review the AAAL list. You all have the draft Plumfest list in alphabetical order. After Wednesday we will finalize it so everyone can prepare their books, and I will print up the order of play. It will be a fairly laid-back affair, so we will bring plenty of songs even if we don’t need them all.

Enjoy this beautiful day and the rest of the week “until we meet again”.

Susan

Good evening Susan,

Sixteen of us had a great time at Garage Band Bash 5 at Lauren and Tom’s house. This was followed by a cookout with fantastic food. Thanks once again for your amazing hospitality.

Note: next Wednesday, the 26th, we’ll be in the Storytime Room.

We focused on four songs that Susan wants to do at Plum Fest.

Bubbles Up – dots added for timing

Good Day Sunshine – dots added for timing and we focused on the kazoo part

Folsom Prison – instrumental noted for Spider ( on harmonica) between the second and third verse.

One After 909 – no changes, practiced for the timing.

All these songs are on the website

The rest is the night was spent with people doing solos and duets or group songs.

One highlight was Jan breaking out a parody of the song Cocaine, best known as played by Eric Clapton. Her version is Propane.  Outstanding job Jan.

Another highlight was Lauren and Patty playing All Your Favorite Bands.

If I missed somebody or something let me know.
