Thank you, Jack!
Following our practice, I did a final revision on the setlist for Birch Healthcare, which is now posted on the website under the event, and on Meetup.
I also put together the setlist pdf of songs. Please note that I made some minor edits to Little Red Riding Hood, and also to Witch Doctor, before putting them in the pdf. I will also update them on the website. Anyone that wishes to join me on the backup to Happy Together, remember to print out that sheet from the website – I only included the Lead sheet in the pdf.
Great to have Lauren join in on her trombone for 25 or 6 to 4 ! And also, thanks so much for leading Pink Houses. That needs several tweaks and lots of guidance on the timing before we will manage to get it together, and I appreciated the help!
Happy birthday, Lauren!
Next week will be our annual Halloween jam, I suppose…. dress up if you like! The songs will be mainly Halloween junk food, including both the songs we will do at Birch and a few more from the deeper, darker Halloween list. I also reserve the right to insert a few normal songs. That list will be posted before the weekend.
I am also preparing the setlist for our next performance, coming up very soon, at the South Berwick Library. That should be a nice setting and easy audience. I have been told that they don’t expect many patrons to show up with ukuleles, so we won’t be doing a sing-along per se, but I will bring extra copies of Jambalaya in case anyone there wants to join in. We will do a strong set of our greatest hits – please sign up if you will be attending, as it’s good to know how many voices we will have when planning the list.
Have a great week, everyone!
Susan

Good evening Susan,
We had 23 members in attendance this evening.
The Warner Ukulele Festival went very well for all involved. If you would like to see the videos of our performance, you can find them on our YouTube page as well as Facebook. Just search Seacoast Ukulele Players.
Tonight we had another great PDF, from the boss lady, which included a few new songs and some songs for the Birch Healthcare event on Halloween morning.
Can’t Buy Me Love – practice
Wild World – That’s going to need a lot of practice
I Can’t Help Myself – Susan may add timing dots
Pink Houses – Thank you for Lauren for leading this song. It needs practice. Listen to it when you have a chance.
Spooky – That one was quite rough. We may pass on it.
Stray Cat Strut – Don’t forget to strum the Am at the end of the instrumental for four beats
Witch Doctor – practice
Monster Mash – for some unknown reason Susan thinks we should build up slowly to the monster sounds at the end. Monsters are hard to control just ask Dr Frankenstein.
Happy Together – This went well considering we haven’t played it for a while. Susan held her own on the backup.
Daydream – Susan changed the key after all these years. People seemed receptive to the change despite the fact that I allegedly gave her the “Jack” look. Whatever that is.
25 or 6 to 4 – Tonight we had Sandy on the melodica and Lauren on the trombone. Sounded great.
