SUP Recap 9/30/2026

Hi, Jack,

The sun’ll come out  – Tomorrow! Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there’ll be sun.

Thank you all for enduring another round of rain songs. Sorry, but I like them!

Practice went well tonight, I thought, and it was great to have a few new members present as well. I was also glad to have you, Tonto, back by my side.

We have two more Wednesdays before we head to the Warner Uke Festival, and after Saturday’s special practice, I expect we will have the setlist ironed out and be pretty much ready to go. Please  sign up and join us Saturday if possible, if you plan to play at Warner. It’s an important practice, and of course we always have a good time at Rick’s.

I will email the performing group separately with updated songs to bring, but will also bring a few spare copies.

For those not planning on attending Warner: We promise to keep a good mix of songs on Wednesdays, and your suggestions are (still) always welcome!

We have several other performances coming up, and 2027 is filling up fast. Please remember that you can join us no matter your level of play. You just need a few chords and a smile.

Thanks, everyone, for your continued participation and friendship. We have a great group and it is all about our shared love of music. Having some great talent on board is a bonus!

Special thanks to Sandy for adding so much with the melodica (?) and recorder. It’s amazing. And of course we would be nowhere without Tom, Best Bass in the East, and Bill on percussion, sound effects and basically whatever else we need.

Those are the special thanks, but I also can’t stress enough that this group is driven by the rest of us, the strummers and singers that form our core sound. Standing up front now, I get to hear you all a little better, and it’s really great!

Have a wonderful week.

Really, “here comes the sun”.

Susan

Good dry evening Susan,

It was nice to see the sun, even if only for a short time.

I can’t believe that today is the last day of September.

We had 25 in attendance this evening.

Please note that if you’re planning on playing at Warner and you have free time Saturday morning we will be practicing at Rick’s house. Information is available on Meetup.  If you don’t have Meetup and would like to attend please reach out to Susan or me for the location and time.

To see the songs we played tonight please either check Meetup or look on our website under the Meetup songs tab.

I’ll touch on a few of the songs that need some work:

25 or 6 to 4 – 2X, 1X. 2 with horns. Susan said she would know what that meant.

Africa – work continues. I was told that we did much better than last week. Susan may change a few things based on suggestions.

If You Want to Sing Out Sing Out – Susan to look at a few possible changes

Underdog – continue to practice

Bus Stop – This went very well considering we haven’t played it in over a year.

World Without Love – same as above
