Well done, Jack…. We do all need to remember how generously we are treated by our library director and staff. We are blessed with such a welcoming space in which to gather and disturb the peace each week! We also need to remember to get dressed. I am writing this down.
I admit I had fun tonight. I may have to reconsider my antipathy toward Halloween. Or I may not.
Thanks to Sandy for (lugging in and) adding keyboards this evening! I know it was an experiment, but a great hint of possibilities to come.
Saturday is looking like a really fun day with lots of players. The set list is posted on Meetup and on the website; it is a mix of Halloween songs and some “regular” songs. As we mentioned this evening, although we need to stay close to an hour of play in order to not interfere with the residents’ schedule, we will be prepared with a couple of “encore” songs in case needed.
Please bring copies of “People Are Strange” and “Chains” – I will have extras in case anyone doesn’t get the memo.
Players should arrive at 9:30 for setup.
I want to recognize the ongoing contributions of Bill Savage on so many excellent sound additions to our songs in the area of percussion, sound effects, narrative intros and beyond. You all know what I am talking about! All right, I even like the monstering. Thank you, Bill! It’s always better with you in the room.
Lastly – thanks to Patty for digging up that photo…..who is that guy??
Thank you all – enjoy these mild sunny fall days, and keep strumming!

Happy early Halloween Susan,
Thank you Patty for the Halloween pic.
We had 29 in attendance on this nice crisp evening.
As I pointed out, the library installed a new projector which we can connect to wirelessly. If you’ve see any of the librarians, please extend a thank you. They really do treat us well.
As you all know, we did mostly Halloween songs today. We only play them once a year. We rarely practice them unless we have a couple hour performance at a farm market or something similar.
If you want to see any of the songs we did today, check out the PDF on our website under Meetup PDFs. If you’re looking for Halloween songs to play on your own, check out the Halloween tab on our website:
It’s still not too late to sign up for Birch on Saturday. Some of us will be in costumes and others may be dressed as ukulele players. I’m sincerely hoping that everyone is at least dressed. We don’t need another misunderstanding.
